Coatings, Primers & Binders for Decorative & Industrial Surfaces

Protecting your projects with our engineered coating and binder solutions

Stobicoat® N

Creating toughness and resiliency for walkways, driveways, Industrial & play surfaces

The Stobicoat® N product range consists of aliphatic one and two-part, stone carpet binders and coatings for outdoor and indoor use for decorative, long-lasting, durable and porous resin-bound surfaces. Sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS) can be achieved provided the subbase is also porous. In addition, our binders are used with kiln-dried aggregate blends such as quartz, granite, marble or blends with recycled rubber mixed using a force-action mixer at the required ratio of stone binder to aggregate. Anti-slip properties can also be improved by utilizing a finishing broadcast of fine crushed glass.

Other supplemental products are available to aid installation, including:

  • Catalysts to shorten the cure times during cooler installation temperatures
  • Stobielast® S solvent based and solvent free primers for subbase preparation before overlay of the decorative stone carpet
  • Stobiblend Z troweling aids for longer troweling intervals before cleaning and to provide improved surface-smoothing action

The Stobicoat® N product range also includes a hybrid, aromatic, two-part, stone carpet binder recommended for use with darker aggregate blends where discoloration (ambering) is not as noticeable. This also serves as a lower-cost alternative when an aliphatic binder is not required.

Typical stone carpet surfaces that use Stobicoat® N include, but are not limited to:

  • Car parks
  • Roads
  • Driveways
  • Patios
  • Pathways
  • Steps
  • Tree pits
  • Pool surrounds
  • Other water permeable drainage systems with aesthetically pleasing surface finishes
